The artist Bio

Samuel Lane grew up in the Vineyard Church, a movement known for worship and the pursuit of God. For over twenty years he has continued to work and refine his songwriting, exploring musicality and faith, pouring his life into crafting songs that draw people closer to God. His songwriting ability, paired with a heart to lead people into intimate worship, fuse perfectly to create beautiful, artistic, simple worship songs. Known for uncompromising honesty, his songs have an ache, a simple authenticity that draws you in towards the Creator.

Lane has written and recorded 40 songs with Vineyard Worship. Including 'Beautiful', the title track of the 2002 genre defining Vineyard album of the same name - the song was covered by Jesus Culture for their 2008 record 'Your Love Never Fails'. In 2013, Vineyard Worship featured Samuel on their first ever solo album, The Fire, "incredible, there hasn't been an album that has captured my attention in such a way for a long time" Christianity Magazine.

Five years on, we come to The Difference. Each song has been crafted with the same intensity and rawness that we've come to expect from a Samuel Lane record. But this record brings something new. “Maybe it’s the stripped-down urgency of Lane’s voice, the album’s eclectic sonic treasure-chest or simply the B3 humming throughout, but whatever it is, it’s enough to make you rethink today’s neat-and-tidy Christian music categories” (Pandora Blog, Curators’Choice).

Lane is currently the Creative Director at The Vineyard Church in St.Albans, the church his father founded in 1988. He’s led worship at events such as David's Tent, Big Church Day Out, Nova Geracao, New Wine, Greenbelt, and Vineyard National Conferences to name just a few. He's married to Sarah, they have two children, Sunny and Eden Love.
